About Me

I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a BA in Journalism. Two weeks after graduation, I wrote my first article for a local magazine. Since then, I have had over 40 articles published in magazines, newspapers, and online consumer resources. In addition to feature writing, my writing experience includes a wide range of forms, such as technical writing, copy writing, medical writing, and creative writing.
Much of my professional experience has been with non-profit organizations and start-up companies, so I was required to wear multiple hats. As a result, I developed my graphic design talents and taught myself the most current design software and printing techniques, which allowed me to minimize costs while maximizing effectiveness. I have created a multitude of materials for businesses and organizations, including marketing collateral, identity systems, brochures, print ads, and PowerPoint presentations. Imagine what I could do with a real budget!
My editing skills come from my journalistic training, strong command of the English language, and attention to detail. I have high knowledge of both AP and MLA styles. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes tend to stick out at me like a sore thumb. I may be one of the few people you will ever meet who enjoys diagramming sentences.
